Senior Analyst of PPP Agency Attended PPP Forum in Barcelona

On May 4-6, the Sixth International Forum on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) was held in Barcelona, Spain. Senior Analyst of the Public-Private Partnership Agency, Mr. Lavan Batiashvili was invited to attend the event. The forum was dedicated to various public-private partnership topics, including challenges and opportunities in the PPP field. It focused on people’s first public-private partnerships as one of the catalysts for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The Sixth International Forum on Public-Private Partnership was organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the Barcelona School of Business (IESE), and was supported by the Barcelona City Council.
During the PPP forum, Mr. Batiashvili made a presentation and through showing the example of a solar power plant project, introduced Georgia to the forum participants as an attractive market for investment in renewable energy sector. He also spoke about the local specifics of public-private partnership, the legislation regulating the PPP process, the advantages and importance of renewable energy projects for Georgia and the world in general.
It is worth to note that the forum participants had opportunity to visit the site of local infrastructural projects successfully implemented in Spain through public-private partnership mechanism.
