PPP Agency Hosted EDF and Toyota Tsusho Representatives

Today, Public-Private Partnership Agency of Georgia hosted the representatives of the French Company EDF and International Company Toyota Tsusho. The French company EDF, in partnership with Toyota Tsusho, is interested in investing in large hydropower project in Georgia.
The Chairperson and the Chief Analyst of Public-Private Partnership Agency, informed the guests about the implementation process of public-private partnership project in Georgia, criteria defined by the PPP law, phases of developing and implementing a public-private partnership project, support schemes provided by the law, etc. Moreover, the guests received the information about the role and competence of Public-Private Partnership Agency. The guests also received a brochure, which clearly describes all stages of the implementation of the public-private partnership project in Georgia.
It should be noted that EDF is a large international company, partly owned by the French government. The company’s activities include electricity and gas supply, power plant design, construction and dismantling, as well as the company generates electricity from various sources such as solar, wind, hydro, nuclear energy and more. According to the 2020 ranking, EDF was named the second largest energy company in revenues (85 billion euros). As for Toyota Tsusho, it is a member of the Toyota Group. It has a worldwide presence through its many subsidiaries and operating divisions and its business is very diverse, spanning industrial, commercial, and consumer sectors.
